Fiji Fashion Week will feature 24 different designers and their diverse collections of clothing

Whippy Knight: 24 fashion designers will showcase their diverse collections at Fiji Fashion Week

A total of 24 designers from Fiji, Australia and New Caledonia will be showcasing a diverse clothing collection at this year’s Vodafone Fiji Fashion Week.

Ellen Whippy Knight, the Fiji Fashion Week managing director says that 12 designers are participating in Resort Cruise tonight which is the major event and another 12 in Resort Lux tomorrow.

The 24 designers will showcase their collection and five of them are new, talented designers. She is eager to see the collections.

She said that tomorrow morning 19 secondary schools will take part in the show of student designers.

Included are the Mahatma Ghandi Memorial High School Adi Cakobau School Marist Brothers High School among others.

The Director of Education says that it’s exciting for schools to be taking on this competition and compete against each other.

One of the biggest global fashion show producers, Jarrad Clark who has 30 years of experience, is in the country to oversee and to add value to this year’s Fashion Week.

Clark is eager to discover what designers can showcase, as well as how he might be able to help them achieve greater success.

Fiji Fashion Week begins tonight at 6pm at the Vodafone Arena.

Tickets are available for $10-$200 through Mpaisa and at the Fiji Fashion Week offices located in Suva, 7-11 Brewster Street.
