8 US legislators rally consumers to again truthful wages in Bangladesh’s garment business, say studies

A latest letter, led by United States Home of Representatives members Ilhan Omar, Jim McGovern, and Jan Schakowsky, and co-signed by representatives Raul Grijalva, Barbara Lee, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, David Trone, and Susan Wild—all members of the Democratic Celebration—calls upon the American Attire and Footwear Affiliation (AAFA) to advocate for fairer wages and defend the rights of Bangladeshi garment employees.

In a press launch, Consultant Ilhan Omar emphasised the urgency of supporting the calls for of Bangladesh’s garment employees for equitable wages.

The letter highlights issues about latest wage will increase in Bangladesh that fall wanting addressing the rising price of dwelling, triggering widespread protests.

The press launch expressed solidarity with the Biden administration’s name for the Bangladeshi Authorities to respect employees’ rights to organise, protest peacefully, and interact in collective bargaining with out concern of retaliation.
