Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation, MPIDC is creating a plug and play facility at Pardesipura’s ready-made garment center to allow for 200 more units. The Pardesipura complex houses approximately 150 medium and small garment units. It is also one of the most historic in the area. It is a plug-and play facility that provides ready-to-use facilities, such as power, internet, water and road.

Rohan Saxena, executive director MPIDC, Indore said, “A plug-and-play facility is being developed at the readymade complex. As per the initial planning, it will be a G+8 structure and will accommodate at least 200 units.” The estimated development cost of this plug-and-play facility is around Rs 100 crore according to the MPIDC.

This plug-and-play infrastructure is the first of its kind in this city, following the IT/ITES sectors.

The facility will have space for other units as well as ancillary units. This will allow garment production to be supported. The readymade complex houses hundreds of garment producers engaged in exports as well as domestic sales of clothing and accessories.

Saxena said, “The plug-and-play facility will help in creating a conducive environment for business. The basic infrastructure needed to start a business will be provided for industry. The facility will have office space and other basic facilities that are a must for setting up a unit.”

The MPIDC hired a consultant to help with technical support and planning for the plug-and-play facility. The MPIDC also plans to develop a new IT Park in the city for IT/ITES professionals. The corporation has completed upgradation work at over half of the Indore properties to improve the infrastructure and fix the properties.
