Spring Outfits from Anthropologie

There’s really no more exciting seasonal wardrobe transition than the one from winter to spring. And sure, it’s for all the obvious reasons: The weather shifts to warm, allowing us to shed bulky layers that once were intended for survival and we can reintroduce bare legs and arms in place of silhouettes that covered us limb-to-limb. Sisilia Piring the content creator, photographer, sees spring as a push to have a more diverse wardrobe for her busy social calendar.

For the New Mexico-based creative, the new season’s ensembles start with some of the most playful looks from Anthropologie. She’s instantly drawn to bold pieces such as colorful mini dresses with ruffled necklines and midi skirts with full silhouettes. And with her balanced approach to styling, she makes each piece feel accessible for multiple occasions—work dinners and road trips included. Piring is sharing her springtime favorites and tips on how to make them.

What are you most excited for in spring 2023?

“Firstly, the weather, of course. But as far as fashion goes, I’m just excited to try out different styles and pieces, especially for upcoming plans—both close to home and bigger getaways. That’s what I did with some of these Anthropologie looks here. I also played with the juxtaposition of girly with a little bit more streetwear, as well, which I’m excited to wear more of.”

What has been your experience as a photographer on how do you dress and put together outfit ideas?

“I do think about the silhouette of a garment or outfit maybe a bit more than others. Some things look bolder or more fuller when you shoot fashion or ecommerce. The same item will look great in real life. It’s because the camera’s lens is a different perspective and it adds volume. This is why I prefer my clothes to be in proportion whether my husband or I am shooting. If I want to wear a piece of clothing that has volume, I’ll be sure to pair it with something more fitted to create overall balance.”

Let’s talk about outfit one. With the combination of party and function, the ruffled neckline with sneakers is a winner. This look is great for any occasion.

“For me, this is a little bit outside my comfort zone because I typically don’t wear anything without sleeves. It is really funky on the top, and I love its playfulness. I especially love the color—that was the first thing that made me gravitate toward this piece.

“While the dress is sweet and romantic, I consider this to be a versatile spring piece because I would wear it casually if I’m hanging out with a friend and also for going out afterward on a date with my husband. For daytime, I’d wear it with sneakers so I could run errands, catch up with a girlfriend, take pictures, and be silly. And if I’m taking it to nighttime, I would just change the shoes and I’m set.”

The play “Look two” seems to be a variation on the classic LBD. This iconic piece is your chance to personalize it.

“I really love the neckline and the strap detail that can be tied into a bow. It’s such a cute detail. This outfit needed some accessories. Me feel. The earrings remind me of pearls and I love them. However, the uniqueness of the added flowers and heart motif makes them my favorite. I was drawn to the statement purse because it’s encrusted with crystals—just so beautiful—and the shoes in the same color scheme of metallic. This is the kind of outfit I would wear to any fancy dinner where I’d want to feel more elevated, like a work-related event.”

What are your current sources of inspiration? How do you envision your clothes to reflect who you are?

“I would say Pinterest and TikTok. When I focus on one mood, event or theme in my head, Pinterest provides me with a lot of inspiration. Like the “go-with-the flow” thing I said before, I allow the general idea to inspire me and then I take what comes up.

“Also, because I travel so much, I’m always thinking about how my outfits complement the place that I’m going to. This includes dressing for the occasion, but also drawing inspiration from the surroundings. That’s what I want to express.”

This full-length skirt looks great in the third look. What’s the best way to style it? And what’s an occasion you’re hoping to wear this to?

“This outfit reminded me of Easter for some reason. The skirt caught my attention because of its size and silhouette. And the white shirt has the same theme but it’s tighter and the balloon sleeves tie it together with the skirt. This is what I picture if I was going to an Easter lunch or if I was hanging out with my family.”

Do you love to travel? Are there spring trips or events on your horizon?

“I’m really looking forward to just being out, not freezing, and taking advantage of that by having tiny little picnics—it doesn’t need to be fancy. Road trips are something I enjoy a lot. I tend to do bigger ones around my birthday in the summer, but in the springtime, I’ll do smaller trips—around four hours—where I could go in one day and come back the next.”

The knit fabric and chunkier shoes make your last look a little different. It’s time to put it on!

“This is one of my favorite looks because it has such a cool and breezy combination of textures with the dress and sweater combination. And also, it’s super comfortable (the clogs!). For me, this one is definitely more of a road trip look—one where you drive for a couple of hours, stop at the beach on the Pacific Coast Highway, and have an impromptu walk or hang out. Or, you can just relax and take in the view. That’s what I was envisioning because it has that very Topanga vibe for me.”
