According to BBC, 10 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions are caused by the fashion industry. The textile industry alone releases 1.2 billion tonnes annually.

20% of the world’s waste water comes from fashion industries.

Recycling clothing can help save the planet, as they require less energy and water.

Recycling clothing is a way to save the earth, as they use less water and require less energy.

Faruque Hassan was president of the BGMEA at a press conference about the Made in Bangladesh Week, which took place at the Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka.

Hassan stated that although electricity supply to factories has increased in recent years, the gas shortage is still a problem.

Due to an improvement in efficiency at Chattogram’s port, the waiting time has been reduced by two days at Chattogram Port.

He stated that “the progress must be maintained” and added that scanning goods at Hazrat Shahjalal international airport has become more efficient.

According to the BGMEA chief the Middle East will continue to be a key garment export destination. It was demonstrated during Made in Bangladesh Week when 43 regional retailers and brands participated, compared almost to zero before.

The Asian market will be another important export destination for apparel exporters.

Bangladesh seeks to export garment items worth $100 billion by 2030. The BGMEA has prepared a roadmap for this goal.

It wants to increase its share in the global clothing market from 6.26 percent to 14.4%.
