After almost three months of slowdown, there’s a spurt in fresh inquiries from global buyers for the spring season giving rise to hope that apparel orders are all set to pick up in the days to come even if apparel makers are seeing this as a positive development amidst the global economic downturn.

According to media reports, this is true despite the fact that garment exporters claim they have received inquiries. However, the buyers still quote lower prices for apparel products.

Meanwhile, speaking to the media, sources from within the BGMEA has reportedly claimed RMG export in the first 20 days of November has seen nearly a 6 per cent year-on-year growth even if orders shifting from China as many parts of the country are still in Coronavirus-induced lockdown, have proved beneficial for Bangladesh.

According to media reports, Rising Group Mahmud Khan Babu, the Managing Director of Rising Group, said that they anticipate new orders beginning next month. However apparel producers expressed concern about the present gas and electricity situation.
