First of all, this article isn’t supposed to intimidate beginner crocheters, or even make those who’ve never picked up a crochet hook before feel excluded. Ganz to the contrary.

It is easy to learn how to crochet. YouTube is full of excellent tutorials which teach you the basic techniques from making a single row to crocheting a whole chain.

That said, if you are a seasoned crocheter, don’t disappear, either. This is a list of fun things to crochet that aren’t run-of-mill hats and scarves.

You can make many fun and useful things. All you need is a yarn and hook.

You should be aware that UK and USA stitch names are slightly different. Make sure the tutorial or pattern you’re following matches the name of the stitch you’re used to. If they don’t, there is help out there to get it sorted out.
