Thought Clothing is a UK sustainable fashion label that has entered into administration due to the failure of the brand’s owner. Around 20 people in roles that are not trading have been let go, though the brand should continue to operate.

According to reports, several independent retailers that collaborate with Thought Clothing received emails warning of an ‘impending administration.’ While many believed the brand would be purchased, the future remains uncertain.

The news was confirmed by Thought’s co-founder and owner, John Snare, who stated, “Despite our best efforts to secure the business, options became increasingly limited, taking account of the current uncertain economic environment. Thought is continuing to trade while the joint administrators seek to sell the business and assets; several significant parties have already expressed interest in acquiring the business and assets.”

Thought Clothing, originally known as Braintree Clothing and founded in 2002, is stocked by approximately 20 independent retailers in the UK and is also available at Sainsbury’s as one of the third-party brands in the supermarket’s in-store fashion hub.
