The Print Show all set for next week’s return

The NEC will be hosting The Print Show in Birmingham, UK on the 19th of September.

This year’s event will take place in Hall 17 for 3 days, until the 21st September. The event was first launched in 2015 in order to meet a market need for an event focusing on commercial printing in the UK.

Exhibitors include Fujifilm UK (UK), Liyu UK (UK), Konica Minolta Document Solutions UK, Kyocera Document Solutions UK, Morgana Laminating Solutions UK, Vivid Laminate Technologies UK, InkTec UK, Premier Paper Group UK, Vivid Laminating Technology UK.

Event director Chris Davies said: “Over the seven exhibitions we have done The Print Show has continued to grow and grow, attracting around 100 exhibitors at each show. We’re still adding businesses to our floor plan, but we are set to fill far more space than ever before as we’ve now removed unneeded areas in order to better support our exhibitors.

“This year has a host of new exhibitors, as well as businesses which have collaborated and built on the success of last year’s show.”

The theme of the 2023 event is ‘Print Without Barriers’, which organisers at Link Exhibitions said refers to print not only being ink on paper, but a diverse medium and an excellent route to market.

This year will also see the return of the Gala Dinner, which Davies said would be “a great way to chat and celebrate with exhibitors and visitors, especially as we haven’t held an evening function at The Print Show since 2017”.

“I’m also looking forward to seeing people attending the Knowledge Zone as I think it’s a perfect way for visitors of various backgrounds to learn about topics and trends that affect everyone,” he added.

The area is redesigned and will feature a variety of talks from speakers on topics such as growing sales, being green and diversifying products and your workforce.

Morgana and Fujifilm will both be unveiling two new products.

InkTec’s focus is on showing off its entire range of DTF, or direct-to-film, products. This includes a 600mm DTF printer, a compact shaker and air purifier. It will also showcase its high-quality DTF inks and PET cold and hot peel films. A new LED-UV Jetrix 3.2m Roll-to-Roll printer will be showcased by the business.

Also on the show floor will be print machine resellers such as Graphtec, Encore Machinery, Your Print Specialists, Colyer, Perfect Bindery Solutions, Aurora, D&K Europe, and Ashgrove Trading.

Software vendors such as Accura MIS PrintIQ Wildcard Software Zaikio Flex4 and Digital Specs will be there, alongside XMPie.

Trade printers such as Route 1 Print, Solopress and Tradeprint will also be present, along with paper merchants Elliott Baxter Group (which will showcase its relaunched Trucard label) and PG Paper.

Finally, the show will see various prizes handed out via its Golden Ticket draw and at a new attraction for this year – the daily ‘Cash Grabber’, a Crystal Maze-style capsule where visitors can challenge themselves to grab as many light objects as possible in order to be in with a chance to win real cash near the end of the day.

Golden Ticket prizes this year, meanwhile, include a £1,000 TUI voucher to be spent on a break, as well as £500 Amazon vouchers, and a variety of luxury hampers.

Many of the exhibitors will also be running competitions and giveaways, with Flexpress giving away 500 copies of Steve Wenlock’s new book, Finishing First – How a small commercial printing company can outperform the market, The purpose of this book is to assist printers in their business.

Fujifilm offers attendees the chance to upgrade their social media accounts by taking professional photos when talking to team members on stand. Baker Labels has fun activities like a basketball hoop contest, while Perfect Colours gives visitors the chance to win Apple AirPods and an iPad.
